You can permanently delete your PrediBall account and the data
associated with it at any time. This page explains how, what
gets removed, and what we may need to keep.
In-app deletion (recommended)
- Open the PrediBall app and sign in to the account you want to delete.
- Open the side drawer (tap the menu icon in the top-left corner).
- Tap your name at the top of the drawer to open your profile.
- Scroll to the bottom of the profile page and tap Delete account.
- Confirm in the dialog. You may be prompted to re-authenticate for security; this is normal.
Once confirmed, the deletion runs immediately and you'll be
signed out. There is no recovery window — the action is final.
If you've uninstalled the app
If you no longer have access to PrediBall on a device, email us
at support@prediball.app
from the email address associated with your account. Include the
words Account deletion request in the subject line.
We process requests within 7 days.
What gets deleted
- Your account in Firebase Authentication (email, display name, sign-in identifiers).
- Your profile document.
- Your memberships in every group, public and private.
- All predictions you've submitted (match scores, advance picks, question answers).
- Any pending join codes you've issued.
- Your user identifier in crash-reporting (Firebase Crashlytics).
What we may keep
-
Aggregated leaderboard history in groups you've
belonged to may retain your display name in past rounds for
other members to see, since rewriting history would distort
other users' scores. We can remove your display name from these
records on request — email us as above.
-
Server logs (timestamps, IP addresses, error
traces) kept by Firebase for security and reliability are
rotated out per Google's standard retention windows. We do not
retrieve or use them for any other purpose.
-
Records required by law (none currently apply
to PrediBall, but listed for completeness).
How long deletion takes
In-app deletion is immediate from your perspective: you're signed
out and the user document is removed within seconds. Backend
cleanup of denormalised references in groups and leaderboards
completes within minutes via Cloud Functions. Backups that
Firebase retains for disaster-recovery are rotated within 30 days
per Google Cloud's standard policy.
